Thanks for watching our symposium replay!
Originally presented during the 2026 American Society of Breast Surgeons Annual Meeting, this IceCure-sponsored symposium brings together leading breast surgeons and radiologists to discuss the evolving role of de-escalation and cryoablation as a minimally invasive treatment option for selected patients with low-risk breast cancer.
The session explores how minimally invasive, image-guided cryoablation may offer an alternative local treatment approach for appropriately selected women aged 70 years and older with biologically low-risk, early-stage breast cancer who are receiving adjuvant endocrine therapy.
What you’ll view in IceCure’s 2026 ASBrS Symposium
Included in the faculty discussion is:
- the clinical rationale for treatment de-escalation in low-risk breast cancer
- patient selection criteria
- multidisciplinary workflow
- practical considerations for implementation into breast surgery and breast imaging practices
Additionally, you will hear expert perspectives on the evidence supporting breast cancer cryoablation. This includes key clinical studies that have helped define safety, local control, follow-up, and outcomes in low-risk patient populations. The symposium addresses how to evaluate lesion visibility, tumor biology, imaging findings, and endocrine therapy when considering whether cryoablation may be appropriate.
Post-cryoablation breast imaging & multidisciplinary care
In addition, the symposium offers practical insight into post-cryoablation imaging follow-up and what clinicians may expect to see after treatment. Of key interest is how radiologists and surgeons can collaborate to support patient monitoring over time. Multidisciplinary practices help clinicians better understand where cryoablation may fit within modern breast cancer care. Furthermore, it demonstrates how cryoablation offers a more personalized, less invasive treatment pathway for eligible patients.
