Summary: The size and temperature distribution of the frozen area (ice ball) were measured in gel and ex vivo pig lungs to examine the efficacy of liquid nitrogen cryoablation in lung tissue. The ice balls created with the liquid nitrogen based ProSense Cryoablation System using 2.4mm and 3.4 mm diameter cryoprobes were of sufficient size and reached an effective temperature in both gel and ex vivo pig lung.
