ProSense® is a liquid nitrogen-based cryoablation system designed to freeze and ablate breast tumors using extreme cold. Under ultrasound guidance, a thin, needle-like cryoprobe is inserted into the breast lesion and treated using a freeze-thaw-freeze technique to destroy the tumor without excision. This procedure can be performed on an outpatient basis in less than an hour. The cosmetic outcomes typically involve minimal scarring, preserving the integrity of the breast.
Breast Cryoablation Courses
As part of the 2025 SBI Symposium, there are several sessions decided to breast cryoablation featuring leading experts including Dr. Robert C. Ward and Dr. Kenneth Tomkovich, co-primary investigator of the ICE3 trial on cryoablation of early-stage, low-risk breast cancer.
The sessions will offer a comprehensive overview of breast cryoablation procedural techniques, encompassing practical information concerning workflow, equipment, and device setup. Faculty members will provide their insights and experiences, sharing valuable tips and strategies to enhance success. Additionally, participants will have the chance for live hands-on device training with ProSense.
The breast cryoablation sessions are being held on Thursday, April 24 and Saturday, April 26. Registration is separate and there is limited space.
